Ya know ya got a problem when................

Instead of moving your precious in-ground plumie, you have someone cut down the oak branches 25 feet up to give him more sun :).

Come on PA's, I know I'm not the only nut.

...you take your Vera Cruz Rose plumie on a weekend trip...

.....you dream of ways to blow up your neighbors giant sycamore tree that grows over your plumerias too high to reach and drops tons of leaves into your garden because they planted it too close to your property line. ): My gardener also hates that tree, too.

.....when your hot house is too close to your fence and a possum decides to jump on top of the hot house from the fence and falls through on top of your plumies.

. . .when you build a 10X30 screened extension to your lanai so that you can grow your plumeria in pots all summer in the sun and still roll them under cover on those nights the temps drop below 40.

...you decide the main reason to want to sell your condo/townhouse and move into a house with a big yard is because there's not enough room in the small patio for more plumerias.

...you have a problem if you do this!!! last winter watching my plumies in the ground drown in constant rain and cold temps. Had the flu, With a 101 fever, ran out, blanket over head, rain slowed down and took two plumies out of the ground, brought them on the patio.. went inside, got warm, went out planted them in pots, came inside, got warm. went out and brought two wet plumies inside. (making sure my husband did not see this! would of thought I had lost my mind. saved them..ha dumb me.

....you hide your receipts and all evidence of new plumie purchases from your spouse, and they are none the wiser when a few more plumies are tucked into the masses that you already have! And all because you just HAD to have one more...

Now THAT is what I call an addiction!

sonja, you are so lucky he doesn't do "head" counts!!
    sue

Hey, Sonja, I do the same thing!!!!! lol ;o) I have to add that I have to watch the mail like a hawk, and pray he doesn't come home and catch me opening the new babies! I've already had to run and hide all the "evidence" when he pulled in unexpectedly one time. lol I've only gotten caught with a new plumeria once this summer! Pretty good, heh?? lol I'm not even real sure just how many I've bought so far this summer, so I consider myself really lucky for only getting caught once! lol Crafty

Ummm Crafty.....won't he notice there are more when you have to bring them in for the winter?? hehehe

Not really, Jo, he already knows how outnumbered he is, so what's a few more? Like Sue said, good thing he doesn't do head counts! lol I just hinted tonight about the possibility of a green house. That would be ideal! My count stands at 96 seedlings in various stages, 28 rooted larger plumeria, and 5 cuttings water rooting, with the possibility of 5 more coming in next week! He doesn't even care to count, he just knows there are wayyyyy too many! lol Crafty

    Hi Sonya and all
oooh I have done that. Told my husband.. "I am done buying plumeria" ..see that brown truck arrive, take the plant outside on the patio...yea my hubby left for awhile.. Amazing was added to my plumie collection..ha no he does not do a head count, thank heavens.

love the comments.. Great great one to comment on, keep it going!!!!..

I thought I'd tried to out smart my husband by having my last package(I said that 10 times ago)by having it delivered to my neighbor who lives across the street...well my Mailman is a VERY GOOD mailman and he knew that any package from Hawaii must be "those sticks" and so it got delivered to my address. Since my husband has a home office, guess who saw the package first... SO I STILL GOT IN TROUBLE...LOL My mail is a good mailman, but that day he was a bad mailman...LOL...He tells me that next time I must let him in on the secret...LOL

When you have to duck behind your plumerias or the wall when you see the neighbors come outside because you don't want them to see you checking the plumies for new inflos or smelling those beautiful flowers - again! And then again!
    Brighty

Oh and Kasie, I gave up hiding from the mailman. He now asks me how my "project" is going when he sees me.

When you sneak into the bathroom with a picture of an

how about when you go around wearing your wide brimmed sun hat with a magnifying glass in one hand and a paint brush in the other trying to polinating your plumie flowers.. what do you think your neighbours would be thinking then???

Thank you for making me laugh! I am so happy about this post, I actually laughed out loud.
I think sometimes we all "think" too much about how to improve or aquire the plumies and forget to just enjoy them. Or maybe we just LOVE them that much and we're all big dorks.

When you encourange your 19 year old daughter to move out of the house so you can turn her bedroom into a nursery because you need more room than the greenhouse, which is already full!

I am enjoying this thread too. i love a good laugh. you are all so creative.. or do you actually do those things?

When every other tree/plant in your little yard gets squished over to one side to make sure the plumerias have plenty of room to stretch out and sun.

Bill, when you figure out how to get rid of your neighbor's tree (without getting busted) let me know. My neighbor has a huge ficus that is blocking the sun and dropping some real annoying seed things all over my yard.
