take a cutting of firm new growth apply 0.8% IBA (rooting hormone) stick in well drained soil & mist taking 40-80 days to root.transplant to 1 gal the following spring (6 months later) then to 3 gal........

I have had an amazing degree of success in growing both japonica and sasanqua species from seeds. The seeds here on the east coast will ripen by 30 July. Seeds may be placed 1 cm deep in any good potting soil. In spring 2011 the rascals will germinate and may repotted as individuals in the same type of soil. I will expect flowers in four years.
