Softwood/greenwood cuttings root readily and the early literature reported 80 to 90% rooting using IBA or NAA. Untreated cuttings, early summer, rooted 88% under high humidity (tent). September cuttings, IBA-soak, sand, rooted 86% in 4 weeks, only 42% without hormone.

My advice right now is to collect flexible new-growth, strip off 2/3 or 3/4 of the lower leaves; give the basal end a fresh angled cut and use 90% perlite to 10% peat. If you have mycorrhizae I'd water that into your prepared mix that's either in pots/cells. Those leaves you strip off you should make the basal cut just beneath a set and bury a set or sets of those when you stick them. 6-8" cuttings. I'd place them in full shade. A camping tent is a perfect propagation chamber. If not full shade... morning sun for a few 3 hours and then full shade after, or, under the canopy of a large deciduous tree and under the northeast side. Or you could build a small nearing frame or, drape lightweight poly over (4 or more) bamboo stakes inside of a large pot and tuck it under the pot. Just be sure you open up the poly during days where temps exceed 85 during the hottest part of the day. Additionally when large water droplets form on the inside walls of the poly, remove it and wipe them off or find a way that works well for you to get them dry via opening up the tent. I guess there are a lot of ways of approaching this.
