Coppiced Plumeria!!!
Okay so, I "had" a plumeria (white) for about 15 years that my mother smuggled as a 2" cutting from Hawaii. It was beautiful! I left the country for a year and had a friend look after it while I was gone. I live in Texas and we get some pretty knarly freezes down here and needless to say it died because it was not properly winterized (or so I thought)... :) When I got back it had all but rotted away. I CUT IT TO THE SOIL LINE!!! I thought it was gone. I pulled it out of the pot to throw it away and for got about it. Well about two weeks of being 100% exposed roots and all, the top where I had coppiced it seemed to have swollen to the size of a grapefruit. I put it back in the pot and soaked it. About a week after that there was 11 shoots coming from the "ball"!!! I have never heard of this happening so I wanted to share my story. The photo is 4 weeks after it started to sprout. If any one has had this happen to them, I would love to hear how it turned out!
