I bought a Papaver atlanticum a year or two ago and love it. But it has never reseeded. I dead-head it (the stalk, down to the first leaf node) to keep it flowering and just leave the stalk and seed head in the garden bed. At this point in the season (it's beginning to feel a bit like fall around here), should I just leave the heads on? Should I cut them off and open them up to scatter the seeds? Clearly I haven't much experience with this and need help.
Thank you!
