Another Pepper Identification Please

I received some pepper seeds from a couple who traveled abroad, (friends of my sis-in-law, so don't know where they traveled), and planted them last summer. I ended up with no peppers, but nice healthy green leaves. After wintering them over, I planted them in a pot this summer and as of today (August 24th, 2009), I now have a small pepper that starts out green, and then turns dark purple/black. Here are some photos:

I've picked a few already, so I don't know if I picked too early, or if they will continue to change color. I put them into a salsa recipe with other peppers so I don't know how hot they are for sure.

I also have a mysterious pepper I THOUGHT came from the same batch of seeds as the peppers aforementioned, but you'll see from this picture it's not even similar!

As with the other peppers, I picked one and used in a salsa. The photo makes the pepper look green, but it's really more yellow. The one I picked was definitely yellow. The pepper looked mature when I picked it so don't know if it would have changed color.

Thanks for any help on identifying these peppers.
