Are you sure it is a mini and not just a small rose? As far as I know minis are on own root. I just did a advanced search on HMF and yes there are minis that are once bloomers. You may want to look and see if any match your rose.

There also was a time several years ago where J&P and a few others were selling some of their minis budded to an understock. I don't know what they were using, but it was to produce more impressive plants for the nurseries to sell to the public. I currently have my one and only mini sport budded on multiflora since it gave me a better chance to keep the sport alive.

I received Fairy Moss in my order from Nor'East last week, and it appears to be budded. Weird.

I bud some minis on fortuniana for fun. I know cool roses does this thought it would be fun to try but really is more of a pain than anything else imo, unless I am doing standards. None of my roses with the exception of seq. ballet possibly were all own root ?

ugh, again. I can't believe HMF is limiting my search for once-bloomers miniatures... It won't allow me to search any criteria except for one!!!! I can only choose either once-bloomer or small or petal count, but not more than one of these criteria can be selected which make a total of 172 to look for...

Yes, my miniature rose is definitely a mini, the blooms are sooo tiny! but they have 20 min. to 26 max. petals max (usually its closer to 24-26)....this is definitely not just a small rose...it's a mini to the tee...

My Fairy Moss from Nor'East looks budded, too. Kinda ugly, but we'll see how it goes.

sigh, I'm jealous Lucretia1 and Hartwood! even though Fairy Moss has as you describe that "kinda ugly budded look", at least your Fairy Moss is a continual bloomer and not a one-time bloomer...
