My grandfather Pepaw loved roses. He planted several in our yard, most of which have died. He died when I was four and i a have inheritted his house. All the roses have been neglected for years. I have identified most as either Mr. Lincoln and Don Jaun. But there is one unidentified. It has really deep pink double flowers, medium green foliage, and seems to want to climb. Its growth is vigorous ( my hubby calls it Rosesilla). It might got planted there because my grandma ran over a trailing branch of its parent plant, then stuck the orphaned cane in the ground and the darn thing grew.
