Mr. Bluebird? Fl. showing white

this is one last photo of it. - shows some white at center and taken outside for better color. see 'Mr. Blue Bird' post for info. and the other 'bluebird' postings too.

Here is a bloom grossly enlarged, a little too purple.

'Mr. Bluebird' blooms finish with very slatey-purple hues, reminiscent of 'Veilchenblau', so it should be very easy to determine if what you have is 'Mr. Bluebird' or not based on that one detail. Blooms also drop very quickly, rarely lasting more than 2 days. 'Mr. Bluebird' is also a very upright plant, rarely more than 12" wide and 20" tall, and sparsely foliated.

Thank you, both, Kathy for the photo and 'trospero' for the info. -- it was very helpfull.

my old rose is upright but holds it's flowers for almost a week! somtimes longer. I am quite convinced now it is NOT Mr. Bluebird. but what is it? we think it was in the yard in 57 and i think it was planted in the 1920s 1930s or before.
