Would there be a way to find out from someone at the zoo what the variety name is?

It is a good-looking rose, and the foliage is unusual. I wonder if it could be Topaz Jewel, a yellow hybrid rugosa -- I'll put a link to some photos below.

I should have asked when I was there. I live about an hour away so I won't be back to the zoo again for awhile. I forgot to mention that I noticed that this bush was very thorny too.

Do you think it looks like the photos of Topaz Jewel in the link I posted? That is also very thorny like the rose you saw.

I e-mailed someone who does landscaping at the zoo, so if she gets back to me I'll let you know.

It does look a lot like the photos of Topaz Jewel but not as dark of a yellow and no pink on the tips. At least I didn't notice any pink tips on the flowers at the zoo. Thank you for asking your friend about the rose. That would be great if she knows what it is. It was such an odd thing to turn the corner and see all those roses in bloom climbing through the trees. Thank you for your help with this.
