It's going to be very hard to guess without a photo, because there are so many red shrub-like roses in commerce.

Do the roses have one row of five petals or several rows of petals?

What is the shape of the leaves, more rounded or more narrow? Are they dull or glossy?

Are the stems very thorny?

Knockout is a common landscape rose.

Champlain? Champlain is a nice hardy red shrub rose for me
and flowers in clusters. Great repeat bloomer. However, since it only averages 4' in height perhaps this is not
