Hey Betsy, they need 100% humidity. I put my cuttings in small pots in the same kind of mixture that you used and them I put them in a zip lock storage bag (gallon size), mist it really good, close the bag and put it in a bright (indirect sunlight) area and it has worked 9 times out of 10.
