Indigo Spires usually need some control in my gardens. It's hard to do once they've gotten big. I guess you could stake around the outside and run some twine to hold them up.

Ugh! I hate it when this happens! Always happens to my S. Leucantha, usually after a downpour of rain while its at over 3 feet.

What I do is I stake around it and tie just like Westelle mentioned. It works for a bit but once it gets at 5 feet or so, the it grows out and over and doesnt look to well.

Im going to prune that sucker to the ground completely this year. The small short dead canes from previous prunings I have noticed are sort of creating the plant to be 'pushed away' from the middle area, making the outside branches more prone to laying flat.
