Probably the name used by Suncrest Nursery, who are the patent holders (M. Nevin Smith & Ginny Hunt work there)

Salvia greggii "Dancing Dolls" (Dave's Garden):
Probably the least correct name, since microphylla is involved

Salvia microphylla x greggii "Dancing Dolls" (Plant Delights): This is probably the best name for the plant

Salvia x jamensis "Dancing Dolls" (UCA Riverside): the name "x jamensis" is a synonym for all "greggii x microphylla" crosses, according to Dr. James Compton, who defined and published the name. It was originally applied to the orange/yellow greggii-like plants that were observed on his trip to Nuevo Leon and Coahuila (including Jame, Coahuila, where they are common) with the folks of Yucca-Do in the early 90s. Because these forms had microphylla-like traits, and no obvious yellow-flowered different species was present as a third party the name was justified. I'd love to see a DNA analysis of these plants.

My fingers are itching to try this one. Maybe it is hardy here in zone 6b/7a and there is only one way to find out.

I recently bought this salvia, as its "cousin" Shell Dancer is currently one of my favorites. It's still fairly small, and hasn't flowered yet.
