To clump or not to clump??

This may not be the correct forum to ask if not im sure I will be directed. I have let some seedling of agastache rupistris grow into a clump and I have one such clump of some size sitting on my front porch. My question being should I not allow this and change it now. Has anyone done this and what kind of a mess could it create or will it.

Check with Richard DuFresne on agastache,I would not see
a problem with it clumping. You should have better lower
branching,this way it does not fall over when in bloom.

I would separate a clump of seedlings from one another, because each plant sends a multitude of stems from the trunk when it is in rapid growth and will be very dense anyway.

Jamming together a multitude of seedlings is unnecessary.

If you want a lot of plants, split them up before they get too big, or you will have a devil of a time separating them.
