I'm not sure about a site to just identify by seedpod. There are site with tree ids by leaf and twig. Another way to get an id is take a sample and photograph it for the Name That Plant forum. There are some really good id people over there.
But I'm going to take a wild guess and say your tree is a Northern Catalpa tree. A nickname of the tree is Indian Bean for the long bean like seed pods.

Hmmm...my guess is that it might be a honey locust. I collected several long beans, thinking that was what they were, and planned to plant some. I did notice the trees were in a landscape...lining a city carking lot, and they did not have thorns.

In doing some reading it seems that only the thorny ones produce seed pods.
Now I'm clueless what I might have. Guess I'll just plant a few and see what the ones are in town in the spring, hopefully.

I looked up the Honey Locust and yes it says ones with thorns are the only ones that produce pods. The link below shows Honey Locust seed pods and also seed pods of the Black Locust. The black locust also has thorns though.

We found a tree with 18 inch x 2 inch pods hanging from it. we can't find an exact match. It's too big to be from a Catalpa Tree. any ideas?
