I am no gardening expert,but I did start Heliotrope from seeds from my plants from last year. I waited till later in summer then let the blooms go to seed.(Die) Then I picked the flowers off and rolled them between my hands. The seeds just drop out. The are very small and black. I had a potfull last year. This year I have about 50 plants. I love the smell. Hope I could be of help..

Ohhh...that sounds great taitai. I have some heliotrope in the yard, but they started blooming late and are still blooming. I am wondering if they will have time to set seed and ripen. I also noticed that when a flower head starts to die and turn brown, it does it one little floret at a time, and there are fresh and brown florets on the same head. When you say you let the blooms die and go to seed...did you wait until the WHOLE flower head was brown and dry?
