Melon seed saving.

I am attempting to save seed from this years Melon we have just eaten, yummmmmm.

I cleaned the seeds and then tested them in a glass, they nearly all floated. I always believed that 'floaters' weren't viable, and only sinkers were viable.

Right or wrong?

Yes, this is normally true. I'm sorry to hear you uhad almost all floaters though. Do you have anymore melons out there not picked yet? If so let one stay and get over ripe, not rotting apart, but leave it longer than you should for eating. This will ensure more ripe seeds.
