Gardening in Shade

Azaleas in Shade?

I get mixed messages about planting azaleas in shade, and I have an area that I want to plant something to hide our AC unit. It's not deep shade; it's under the canopy of some very tall evergreens; so it's sort of light, but never sunny. The azalea we bought is the salmon/pink color. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you want the azalea to bloom (and I assume you do), it will need to get at least 4 hours of sun during the spring and early summer when it is forming next year's buds.
