I'm doing my strawberries in a 4x8 bed this year and planning on 64 plants, 2 per square foot, staggered planting.

Lack of space will limit my raspberries to an 8' row, four canes, but that should fill in and be enough for the two of us for eating fresh.

Be sure to plant more than one variety of blueberries for pollination.

Just curious, I'm trying to become a better SFG. How deep are you building these beds? I have strawberries and raspberries but they need to be transplanted from pots to beds.

jj007lj, I built mine 12" deep, but they are sitting on good soil so the roots can go as deep as they want. Eight inches should be fine for strawberries, they have rather short roots. I'm not so sure that's deep enough for the raspberries, though. I've never had them in raised beds before, but their roots run quite deep.
