Square Foot Gardening

Commercial compost

Since I am just starting SFG, I do not have a compost pile yet, so I am going to have to buy the compost by the bag at a big box store. Can you recommend an organic brand that is good? I've seen in one of the forums where a poster mentioned the Kellogg's brand is made up of sludge. What are some reliable brands?

The commercial brand I have seen highly recommended in this forum is Gardner & Bloome Soil Building Compost. Its made by Kellogg. Its ingredients are very similar to Kellogg's Garden Soil which is sold at the big stores. The Gardner & Bloome has a few extra ingredients in it. I found the Gardner & Bloome stuff at a nursery. It was $8.99 for a 3 cuft bag.
