I would. Sounds like you have mushroom and leaf compost, hummus and manure. That sounds like diverse compost to me! If it has peat in it, fine, but still use 1/3 peat and 1/3 vermiculite if you can find it. The last two help drainage and hold water, two very good things for the soil.

Do not ever spend that kind of money on vermiculite again! Wayne county West Virginia here - if you do have to buy vermiculite in bulk try your local pool installation store. I purchased a 4 cubic foot bag for $15 bucks last week. If you have access to corn cobs they work just as good as vermiculite as to water retention. As to breaking up heavy clays I don't use vermiculite - compost only. Does the forest floor have vermiculite? Best Trust mother nature. Worked for me the last 11 years. Maybe not for someone in more arid(dry) location.
