Hi all -

I have a potato box I built into one of my raised beds.

Recently I purchased a 6-pound bag of Kennebec potatoes from the local farm store.

Now on our local U of I extension site, it says Kennebec is a late variety:

However, other places, most actually, say that Kennebec is actually a mid-season variety - even the package says mid-season as well.

The store also sells Red Pontiac and Yukon Gold - but these show up as mid-season on the U of I website.

What is your recommendation on the type I should purchase for the potato bin? I know it was previously discussed that only the late varieties will make potatoes all the way up, so now I'm concerned I went to all that work and don't have the right type of potatoes to grow.
