blackberry plants that climb are quite common and the trailers or suckers are thorny.....i would recommend pense nursery...they have all types of berries...check out there website...good luck....jim

I planted a bunch of raspberry bushes this year. They are doing well but I don't expect fruit until next year. I heard blackberries do well but blueberries don't grow well here at all. I was wondering about what I should do at the end of the summer to my bushes.

Don't plant black and red raspberries close together....disease problems.

I have Heritage everbearing raspberries.....it is considered passe now with better varieties. I like the everbearing because I can cut the whole bed down over winter instead of cutting only those that bore. That's too confusing. With everbearing, you miss the early crop but the entire bed produces at summer's end.

Forget blueberries, they require acid soil which you could make, but not keep what with the alkaline water.
