Good day everyone! I got a great Easter box in yesterdays mail from my secret pal! Loved it! Thanks so much! In the box was an Easter Egg full of mini-reses.. which my youngest son quickly claimed, a box of mini robin eggs, one of my favorites! A pair of great garden gloves that will come in very handy come time to open up the pond and the cutest of all, 3 pastel boxes that look like they should have eggs in them but inside are flower bulbs! I just love those! I don't know where on Earth you found then SP, but I love them! Thank you for the great Easter Box!
Hope all is well with everyone!

Birthday cards... and more Birthday cards...
I know that I already posted that my Garden Circle Pal had sent several birthday cards to me, but just have to say that they are continuing to arrive! (And they are from so many places - today they came from MI, FL and MA) How do you pull this off, Secret Pal? One card today had the comment inside, "It's the birthday I'll bet your mailman would like to forget!" LOL
So, okay, I'm getting spoiled and in a very creative way, I might add. Thanks for all the warm wishes, Secret Pal!

    Thank you Secret Pal!!

I received a nice box from my pal this month. There were some really neat garden ornaments (DH took the dragonfly!), a cute frame with charms, a nice hand stamped cardÂI'm going to copy that design pal! And a few packets of seedsÂ..always welcomeÂ.you can NEVER have too many seeds! Oh yeahÂ.my pal also sent me a live bee! Isn't that so sweet! I've never had a pet bee before. He was a bit dazed coming out of the box but I'm sure he's doing better nowÂ.meeting his new neighbors!

    Sandlapper,

That is really a hoot. Where have all the cards come from? How many have you gotten? How is your pal doing that? Any ideas. What a cool way to surprise you.

What a way to celebrate a birthday. It's the one that keeps on going kind of like the energizer bunny and just in time for Easter too. That is so funny. As you said, it's a good thing you don't get a year older with each card. How old would you be now?

And Beckster, your pal sent you a live bee? How cool is that! lol These folks are just too imaginative!

Everyone is getting such neat stuff and it is so much fun to see what you all are getting. I just wish we could be there as each box is opened!

Sandlapper Rose, congratulations on your birthday card fest. Maybe you'll get a live bee too! Watch for buzzing in your mailbox. How on earth does one pack a live bee? Bubble Wrap? Bee Wrap? Bee Box? How do you keep it still while taping?

Becksters pal: without telling Beckster who you are, could you just anonymously post how on earth you packed the bee???? Email me, and I'll post the whole sordid tale for you.

I know I've sent at least one worm on an exciting postal adventure just overnight to further-western WA. The little guy just would NOT get out of the roots I was washing so in he went and is happily relocated out in the country for his retirement. I sent an ant on plants to the midwest last Fall. But nary a bee, never.

    Time to rest! Poochella
    Here's Beckster's Easter lily!

Sandlapper, you must have an amazingly caring and well travelled pal. LOL.

A live bee??? Personally, I would be freaked if a live bee came out of a box :-). Was there a warning sign?

As for me, nothing yet this month :-(... Hey, secret pal... are you out there?

    Thanks,
    Paul

Oh, yeah. Happy Easter to everyone! Let's try to remember what we're celebrating... little bit of compassion and love goes a long way.

    Thanks,
    Paul

a blessed and joyous easter to one and all

Good morning all and I hope everyone is having a Happy Easter!

    {{gwi:1251269}}

It's cold and cloudy out there and I'm sure glad I'm not having to hide and hunt eggs this morning. Jacey is at her other granny's today but I really did miss getting up for the Easter bunny and if I was honest I'd say I'd really like to be out there hunting eggs. lol

When I was little my dad used to crack the eggs on my head. He'd tell me to come there and then ask me to turn around like there was something on my back and then he'd surprise me by cracking the egg. It looks like you'd learn after awhile but I kept letting him do it. ;-) Funny what you remember when you get older isn't it? If I needed to remember something I couldn't for the life of me.

    Have a great day all!

First of all, Happy Easter to everyone in our group!
I know this will be confusing to say this as I am, but I got a birthday box from someone who is not the Secret Pal who sends to me (I know who the box is from but in order to keep eveyone guessing about who is whom, I'm not giving the name.) Thank you so much though, Secret Friend! I got the prettiest sun visor hat to wear in the garden and a pair of gardening gloves to match and a lovely note with roses on the front, and a little gift bag filled with seeds. You were especially sweet to send this gift to me for my birthday.
    Many hugs,
    Sandlapper Rose

Two more packages came in the mail...
In addition to the pacakge I posted about above, I got two more packages on the same day. The mail carrier must truly believe someone special lives here.
These packages were from the Garden Circle Pal who sends to me. One was a St. Patrick's Day theme and the other a birthday theme. The St. Patrick's Day package was pleasantly green - a pretty card, green scented candles, the cutest little rocks with names of herbs on them, hand cream, a notepad that has flowers and a lady bug on it, bath salts, and a mint chocolate candy bar. The birthday presents were all gift wrapped and I opened them today since my younger daughter was here and we did our birthday thing today because of that. I got some lovely crafting things (buttons, stickers, etc.) some great packets of seeds, a gardening book that I know I will enjoy, and a lovely wall container that has a rose design on it. Just beautiful! (...and then you know about all the cards that have been arriving carefully arranged by my pal..)
Anyway, it has been a wonderful weekend! Thank you so much.

    Sandlapper Rose,
It sounds like you are having a very fun-filled Birthday.
One I am sure you will always remember. Happy Easter to you also and to everyone else in our group. It started raining here around 3:00 so I hope all the kids got to hunt eggs at least for a little while.

March is almost gone and April is approaching. Time surely does fly.

Night all and I hope everyone has a good week.

    Shirley

These posts are always so much fun to read! Sandlapper, sounds like you're having a great birthday, what a cool pal you have. And happy birthday to all the other March b'days out there, and hope you all had a wonderful Easter! And a buzzing bee for Beckster - funny!

Paul you should not be left out!!! How about we all find a bee and do a shipment to you? I've had some huge variety of buzzing insect divebombing me in the clearing where I walk the dog. You want it? It's yours! ( I just have to catch it...) If you collect enough you could start an apiary, or a bee pollen product business, a really well pollinated orchard or berry patch; the list is endless...
We could label the package: WARNING; Bee on Board

I hope your Pal is okay, you deserve to be remembered!

Paul, maybe you'd like a butterfly or a ladybug in addition to a bee? I've seen a few of those around here recently. Hope your Pal comes through soon!

okay, this might sound like a dumb question, but i'm asking it anyway.

was the bee an accident or meant to be sent? was it wrapped in anything or just flew out? isn't that a chance one takes, especially if the recipient could possibly be allergic?

i'm sure the send deosn't want to respond to take away the secret part of the swap, but i would appreciate everyone else's opinions.

rose, happy birthday, a little late. your pal is really pulling the wool over your eyes, huh? hope you enjoyed it.

hope everyone (who celebrated the day) had a beautiful easter, regardless of the weather .

Ahem, I have it on good authority that the little World Traveler bee was quite a surprise to the sender as well. And that's all I have to say about that...except I think it was a nice completely coincidental touch as long as no one got stung!

A few years ago, I was playing tag and running in the yard and ran into a bee- crash courses. I got stung in the face for my efforts and Tagged as well! Drat.. Remember Muhammed Ali's poetry days?

I ran like a butterfly, got stung by a bee..... teehee.

And for Sandlapper that lucky birthday girl with all the cards..... in honor of your 29th and toasting to no gray hairs: Back by popular demand-- the flaming cake that never gets stale. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

So, just to clear up about the bee.....
I believe he was probably an accident. I've received worms before...in the roots of plants. Maybe he just snuck in for a nap. He was pretty groggy when he came out of the box, which is good (I sure wouldn't want an angry bee coming out of the box!)
No harm done. No one in my house is allergic bees and everyone thought it was quite unique!

Sounds like Sandlapper Rose is having a very interesting and exciting birthday! I think you have to subtract a year for each card you get. You must be about 21 years old by now :)

Paul, I hope your pal is okay. If you don't hear from your pal, I'm sure there will be lots of volunteers who are ready to jump in and start sending you things.

It's such fun to be part of this warm and wonderful group. Happy Spring everybody!

Paul Chang geo, if you're out there: check your email please!

i sure hope no one took offense to my question/lack of understanding about the bee. i just didn't know if it was something you were into beckster, or if the bee just happened by accident, or if it's some inside joke we are all not privvy to. thanks for the explanations.

I'm wondering if my pal got her package this month. I shipped on the 17th and haven't seen her post that she got it.

I thought the bee was sent in a jar! lol Who knew it was a free flier? Maybe a frequent flier? Don't tell him where I live please. ;-)

Earthly I don't think anyone took offense to your question. It doesn't sound like it to me anyway.

Paul, I hope your pal comes thru for you in the next couple of days.

It's been beautiful here the last couple of days, sunny and in the low 70's. Hope ya'll are having the same wherever you are.

I too hope everyone had a good Easter.

    Nancy

    Earthly-
I was not offended at all....I didn't explain it very well I guess. I just thought you'd all get a kick out of it.

However.....the bee may be offended that we're talking about him behind his back.:)

Well, since the bee wasn't talkin' how else were we supposed to hear all the buzz? ; o ) ... He shouldn't take offense if he doesn't know he's being talked about... I won't tell him if you won't, so shhhhhh.

You are all so funny. The buzz...LOL I am going to call Beckster Beeckster from now on, in honor of the little traveler.

Everybody have fun on April Fool's! It's been an age since anyone pulled any tricks or jokes on me on 4/1 and I miss it. Not to invite trouble; I'm usually on the giving end of that equation....
    Poochella

PS: tonight I was going to get organized starting with the gorgeous file box/photo box my Pal sent way back in Feb. It was just like a whole new box when I opened it, inside was a cute dog valentine and a lovely concentrated sachet "Fresh Cut!" If I didn't note these before, Pal, I thank you again!

I guess technically this should be on the April post but I just couldn't wait to thank my Secret Pal!

I got a package in the mail for April Fool's Day! I don't think I've ever received an April Fool's gift, but hey, I like it! My pal sent me a coloring and activity book with crayons which I'll put to good use at a family gathering I'm going to next week. It'll help me keep the little ones entertained.

My pal sent me a pet also! A dust bunny! It says it's easy to care for, loves spider webs, enjoys hiding under the bed, low maintenance, multiplies rapidly, and is especially active at night. It's so cute! Now what should I name it?

My pal also sent a Stress Buster. It's bubble wrap in a bag for "When you are stressed & full of troubles just grab a piece & smash some bubbles!". Also very cute!

And last, but not least, my pal included a beautiful card wishing me a Happy April Fool's Day and a Happy Spring too. Thanks again Secret Pal! It's always good to hear your wonderful wishes.

What a cute idea your Secret Pal had - an April Fool's Day package! I can tell the people in this swap are very creative. I saw that with my birthday cards coming in for days and days and from all over the US...LOL
    Have a good day everyone!

Hi there! I received the nicest letter and card from my pal on Monday. I'm sorry I didn't post sooner. I've been taking advantage of this beautiful weather we are having and have been cleaning out my flowerbeds and mulching. I've put down 9 yards of mulch so far and am only half done. It feels so good to be outside, but my muscles are screaming today. It was all I could do to get out of bed this morning. lol.
To my pal, a hotmail acct would be great where we could email each other. I love that idea! I hope you are getting some of this nice weather. It's supposed to be rainy and cold here the next few days though, so I have been trying to get as much done as I could. I hope you had a wonderful Easter. Thank you so much for the card and letter. Hope to talk to you soon! :) Teresa

Is anyone in contact with Shirley, Brittney's Gran?
    YOO HOO Shirley!
I am fretting about a box I sent. Should have arrived by now. Sure hope she's not gone off on some month long cruise. Does anyone know if she's home or gone?
    Thanks,
    Poochella
