Calcutta Gold Marble

I see alot of people using marble and want to use this too but everyone seems to be pushing me away form it because of staining. Can anyone that has it please let me know how the wear is?

Marble is very porous indeed. Instead, look at a granite like Quartzite Bianca Vena Verde.

I've heard quartzite can be very porous and stain like marble in some cases? Specifically, I designed my kitchen around a quartzite called "super white", I cannot change now because entire kitchen planned around this beautiful quartzite, Love it! Any experience with quartzite????

Some natural quartsite is harder and denser than others, super white being one of the harder ones. But i would still be carefull with it. I have white marble in my Kitchen, it has scratched & etched, but i do not mind it at all. Neither did my cleaning lady with abrasive cleaners & acid...the man made white quarts products can still stain, its a resistant product, not bulletproof by any means. Ask your fabricator if they offer dry treat sealer, a good 15 year product that buy's you more time in terms of cleanup as water/wine/coffee will bead up on the surface instead of absorbing into it.
