Looking good. The Nepenthes is going to eat that african violet! No great loss, but I'm prejudiced in favor of all the other gesneriads LOL. If it's going to be really boggy in there, and you want to keep the violet, you'll want to raise the crown up well above the soil level, they do like to rot.

What's that blooming at the base of the stump? A Ping?

And I'm always looking for ideas for small heat and moisture loving orchids to add to the wish list.

Well the nep hasn't taken over yet though I did move the av over. That turned out to be a bit more of an ordeal than I anticipated -- though not a major one. I had left the av in it's pot figuring if it went downhill removal would be easier and because there is no soil in the tank, just sphag over lava rock. Well the av couldn't have been too unhappy -- it sent roots through the holes in the pot down into the lava rock. It was rather 'attached' to its spot.

At the base of the tepui was a Ping. primaflora. It bloomed nicely for a couple months then went into a death spiral. I noticed quite a few thrips on the dying remains but don't knwo if they were the culprits. Oddly a different Ping [can't remember the species] sitting right next to it was completely unaffected.
