? on coco fiber under the waterline.

I'm siliconing my coco fiber matting to the tank this weekend and was wondering if it should run down beneath the false bottom into the reservoir. Would it come apart and plug my pump? Perhaps it would wick the water up and make my Tillandsias happy? I could see it going either way. I'm leaning towards keeping it clear but it would be easier to run it to the bottom.... decisions. decisions.

I'm thinking that it would wick the water up and make your plants happy for a while, but then it would slowly (or quickly) break down and come apart and clog your pump. Personally I would leave it above the water line.

The answer to all your questions is Yes lol. I've found that underwater it breaks up into pieces that will plug your pump. Definitely keep it above waterline and add some type of prefilter for the pump.I've had so much problem with this I'm eliminating it entirely from my next setup.
Underwater it setup a great place to grow algae but not the pretty kind lol.
With your setup the problem should be much easier to manage but add the prefilter and be sure it's easily accessible.Above water it seems to be much more stable.
