What a nice surprise!

I started some hosta from seed last year & they were too tiny to do anything with, so I stuck all the 6-packs in an unused flower box outside & promptly forgot about them. I was outside a little while ago & saw green peeking through some leaves & I've got about 30 hostas coming up & they will be big enough to plant in the bed later. My first time with hosta from seed.

Dixie it sounds like you have something to bring to the MTPS! :-)

Kudos, I've never grown Hosta from seed either; that's pretty sweet.

I am going to the ETPS hopefully. I've tried to get there the last couple of years but something always comes up.

Dixie it's only 30 miles further the the MTPS! You could come to the MTPS on the 16th and then go to the ETPS the following week. :-)

My friend stuck Hosta leaves in root tone and poked them into the ground around a tree. every one of them rooted - I couldn't believe it. I've had good luck with divisions but seed and rooting leaves is new for me. I'll for sure try the seeds this year. With over 35 trees in my acre yard, Hosta are a mainstay for me.
