Greetings!

I've recently moved to the coast of NC. For the first time I have a sunny lot. I desperately miss my farmers' markets so I was very excited to grow a vegetable garden.

My husband spent a fortune making the perfect 8 x 4 boxes (he's an engineer and EVERYTHING must be made to withstand all of Nature's forces ;) ). At first, everything was growing fine. Great lettuce. But now, since it's gotten hot, I'm having a heck of a time getting the watering right.

I work 14 hour shifts so I put in a drip system. The conditions can be a bit harsh. It's VERY windy and hot (today it's a cool 84 but it's usually closer to 90+). I thought that would require more water. I think I initially had too much water (Bolting, rotting). So I cut way back and now I think it's too little (shrinking stems, dried up leaves).

It's also putting out fruit for what I think is too early - the plants aren't mature enough.

I've posted pics of my problems at the site below. I'd SO appreciate it if you could help me solve this. My garden is one of the things I use to take my mind off my work (mentally ill children and teens) and if I can't get this figures out I may just go crazy (pun intended).
