Some on your list are huge plants - like Red Pear - so you will want to sort them out from the ones you plan to grow in containers.

Given your list, I'd pick Cerise Orange and Red Pear. But honestly, I'd prefer other varieties to choose from.

I'll star the ones I'vew grown and none of them in containers, but I'd still select Black Cherry and Galina's Yellow, the two choices you mentioned, and as with Dave, there are others I'd grow, but you said you'd read through all the cherry tomato threads, so I'll go with what you picked to ask about.

Thanks to both of you for your input. This list is varieties that I already have on hand from various swaps and such. Maybe if I were buying seed, I might have picked others.

You don't say what flavor you are looking for (I like sweet tomaotes), but of your list I have grown: Galina's Yellow,
Matt's Wild Cherry,Red Pear and Super Snow White.

I like Matt's Wild OK, like Snow White, was very disappointed in Galina's after all the hype, and Red Pear is cute but has little flavor.

Sungold is definitely a winner here. Plants are huge so I wouldn't try containers. Think ours reached about 8' last year.

I'd skip the list and get "Sweet Quartz" or "Sweet Hearts"

The production, flavor and resistances will be better.

Good point. As far as cherries go, I generally like a sweet flavor. I do like acidic tomatoes in the larger varieties as well. The only flavor that I don't care for is none--flat and bland--like grocery store tomatoes.

We grew Galina last year and really liked the flavor. They are on our list again for this year, as is Black Cherry.

slo_garden, if you decide to grow any of them in pots, could you post your results at the end of the growing season? I've been toying with growing tomatoes in pots, too.
