I grew Moskvich last year and was very impressed with it. It was very tasty for an early and quite productive.

Of your 3 choices I'd pick Moskovich too but I prefer Matina or even Bloody Butcher. JMO

I like Moskvich, one of the more frequently misspelled tomato varieties out there.

Good to very good taste, especially considering it's early + the fruit size for an early, indet but not huge.

I have seen the names moskvich and moskovich; are these the same tomato? I am asking because of my confusion over red rose and rose and reisentraube and reisetomate. I thought people were just misspelling the names.

Probably. The spelling of the name Moskvich vs. Moskovich seems to be about 50/50 with the reputable seed vendors but the descriptions and historical details read the same.

But with Rose and Red Rose it isn't a spelling issue - different names, different tomatoes as Carolyn detailed in a different post on them here.

Reisentraube and reisetomate? I can't say except that they don't translate the same and it would appear to be a totally different name so different tomatoes, not just a spelling difference.

I'm in upstate NY as well... zone 5 though. I have similar question about the early riping tomatoes. Assuming they are transplants(not personaly grown from seed)when should you expect riping. I planted my big boys and beefsteaks last year the week before memorial day. While it was wet and not very sunny summer I did get my first tomatoes in the second week of august. How will the early girls or moskovich compare?
