What a great idea for spacing templates! I'll be making some soon. I can see how these would be especially handy for Carrots, Beets, Radishes and such! Thanks.

About the spacing templates. If you made them out of cardboard, you could leave them down and mulch over them. Any disadvantages, except that they would not be reusable?

Susan, I think the cardboard would work fine, but then, like you said, you'd have to make them over and over for every square and that would drive me nuts. Or you could just make one and use it through the season and toss it.

I bought squares of vinyl tile from Lowe's for 42 cents each to make my templates.
