Tropicalesque Gardens

splitting mature elephant ears

I have some enormous elephant ear bulb growth this year. I have one with about 30 different leaf sites, probably about 2 feet across. It has been there about 3-4 years. Does anybody know if the various knob-looking parts of this plant can be split apart?

I am posting a follow-up to my own message. I found a thread on the Southern Gardening Forum that is about 75 messages long. This has lots of info about splitting ee's, and also about anything else you want to know about ee's.
