Plant missing from my flowerbed!!

This plant is missing from my flowerbed:

I don't know when it went missing, other than that it was before the swap. It was sometime during the time when I was getting it IDed. Ione thought it was a tropical verbena. I don't see any remains of dried-out, dead plant, and I don't see any signs that it was dug up. It has simply vanished.

Do cats like verbenas? That's all I can think could have happened to it.
