Black Magic Elephant Ears Toppled

In April I bought two lovely Black Magic elephant ear plants about 2 feet high, with 5 or 6 stalks each. I put them in the ground and they've done beautifully, one in particular has gotten extremely full and tall. The other day it started to look a little droopy, and I gave it an extra long watering.

Today (it's about 98 degrees) I walked outside and it had pretty much toppled. It's in part shade. The other plant gets slightly less sun and for the moment seems to be doing fine, though it's not nearly as large.

Any advice? I'm pretty new at this. Can I tie the stalks to stakes? Should I trim some away?
