I used "Dynamite Fertilizer"(I put it around end of Feb. "slow release" they sell at H.depot. Found out its the same company that puts out "Osmocote". I like it because its a slow release and doesn't burn the tips of the leaves. Also I added "fish emulsion" every 3-4 weeks from March through Sept. whenever I remember,lol...I was told one of the best things to add is "Organic compost" and Pine bark mulch on top... which they sell at HD,Lowes and WM...Black Cow is a brand that comes to mind. I spread it around the outer part of the drip line a few inches deep, keep it away from the trunk a few inches. This is what I did with mine, but I'm sure others have other suggestions. Good luck with your possible bloom spikes.

BTW, if your fruits didn't set last year, (just my opinion) but its probably because the tree isn't mature/strong enough
to hold it. That happened with my mango two years ago, it aborted the very tiny fruits. The following year it set.

im not sure if this is vegatative growth i have. if it doesnt produce this year thats fine, ill take growth over fruit.

i think im going to wait until it starts raining a bit more regularly before i start fertilizing.

Looks like you may be out of luck for fruit this year. Good looking tree though.

Yes, my Sweethearts have all flushed out similarly. I am hoping that there are a few limbs that might still throw blooms, but I am not holding my breath.

Nice tree! At least you're going to get some nice growth and will make your tree fuller. I never fertilize before the end of Feb. early March. I would also do so sparingly, as the new growths are very sensitive to fertilizer burn,IMHO.

Well, I found this article from the U of H. It states that fertilizer is to be applied when the flower panicles reach 4-5" long, otherwise the growth can convert to vegetative from the N introduction.

Mine are just now swelling with some pushing, but no ways of knowing if I am getting blooms. I should know soon enough.

Since we had an El Nino winter, I did get a lot of rain this winter. I hope that does not result in growth vs bloom.
