Vigna Caracalla

I know there has been several threads on this previously, but after reading through them I find I still have some questions.

In past years I've had little success with this vine as I lived in a yard with too much shade. I've moved to a home with a yard that has fantastic sun exposure, so I'm hoping to have some success this year.

A couple questions, I am in zone 7b, 8a or 8 depending on which chart you go by, and intend on overwintering this. Can anyone give specific instructions on overwintering it?

Also, I've read some threads from folks in much more arid and warmer zones, does anyone here have good experience growing this in Northern states, and can you advise me on if and what to fertilize with and how moist or dry to keep the soil?

Finally, I'm weighing the option between putting it in the ground and taking it out for winter vs. growing it in a container and just bring that in for the winter. Again, can anyone advise on this?

Thanks!

Allison
