Not yet, but this season I plan on growing some Sweet 100's in a hanging bag typically used for strawberries, along with some pickling peppers in another. I hope it works out.

I have been searching alot and like one idea.... use one of those recycleable shopping bags that you can get at stores. It's similar mesh to smartpots. Cut a hole in the bottom and hang it... convenient with the handles. Bags are often no more than $2 sometimes, free.

I love the concept of hanging tomatoes because no staking is required but the two downsides are A) the weight of the tomato plant and soil requires a strong support because it only takes one fall to break the plant's stems and B) they dry out quickly and need to be watered sometimes twice a day...

I like the idea of the recycle fabric bags because I use smart pots and LOVE them! With the fabric the roots don't hit a hard surface but emerge through the sides and get air pruned...because of that they develop a fantastic root system.

My friend tried this idea. The wind whipped them around terribly and beat them to a pulp.
