Here is some photos of a White Sapote scion grafted onto C. pringlei rootstock. I took the photos today. I did the graft about 3 months ago. It had just now started growing. It doesn't seem to be that vigorous!
Please refresh my memory.....was this your project to try to get more cold tolerance for your White Sapote? I forget....but I think that is what you had told me somewhere a while back. What is the cold tolerance range of pringlei vs. white sapote? Glad to see your grafts have taken and taken off...well, kind of...at least they are growing.
The C. pringlei is hardy down to about 8F and White Sapote has only been hardy to about 22F at my place. I am hoping if they prove to be compatible that the C. pringlei will pass on some of its hardiness to the C. edulis scion.
Wondering if you still have casmiroa pringlei growing at your place and if I could get some scions or seed from you? I have some other cool plants for trade.
