Here is info on smaller varieties. Choosing "Condo" Mangos allow you to have more than one in a small area(G).

Thanks Lisa, actually I already have a few dwarf mango trees, but I wanted and only have room for one more and I wanted to get a medium or semi large tree which I plan on pruning to keep from getting too large. But I wanted to plant one that is fast growing. My dwarfs are kinda slow growers. I'm hoping someone can tell me more about the Bailey's growth habit,size and tree shape. Appreciate your help.

Bailey's Marvel is a huge vigorous tree, its specifically known for this quality, in addition to excellent tasting fruit. Keitt isn't a small one either, but if you must have one, Keitt probably isn't as prolific growing as the BM. Valencia Pride would be another choice for a fast grower. Another consideration would be season of harvest compared to your other trees. Keitt is about the latest of all mangos, which might be desirable for you.

Thanks for the info, I think Keitt is probably the one for me, I don't want a very large tree, semi large is fine, with selective pruning. The late season also appeals to me since my other mangoes are early and mid .Would you say your Keitt is a fast grower? Thanks again,

I planted a 2' tall Keitt mango a little less than a year ago, and it has since grown to almost 6' in height. I would say that it's a pretty vigorous grower, but it is also quite prone to wind damage on account of its slim branching habit. Left unpruned, Keitts get to be quite large, so be sure to trim it back every couple of years if your space is limited.

That is very good news, that's a lot of growth in less than a year. I am very excited to hear that,I just hope mine will do the same. I will definetely prune mine to keep it from being too leggy,I prefer mango trees to be wider than taller.Thanks a lot.

Mine had an up an down history. A sudden freeze in Jan 2012,cut my 2 year old tree (still in a pot-mistake no.1) down to a 2' stick with a growth bud,maybe one small branch was left- hard to remember.

By 2014 it was a small bushy 3 foot or so. Looked good for so small. Right now in 2016,its 7' tall and looking more tree like by the day. About 4-5 ' wide also. So,the typical Baileys upright look.

Now- most importantly? Its fast in a SF Bay Area summer and as hardy as they come. If I was growing this in the hot inner valleys? Who knows how much larger? Of course there more winter protection required. If you love Mangoes,that's not that big a deal to do.
