Grafted Pace Mamey Root system.

Hi. I've bought a 3 gallon grafted pace mamey, which is about 3 to 4 ft tall. Still has the juvenile branch appearance and is beginning to shoot multiple branches. About five of them in a group, near the top. It was in the ground for a month and took it back out, due to the fact that we are planning to move "if" we are able to sell the house. The root ball was beginning to grow, but still around the same size as it was when I planted it. For about a month now, it's been in a 7 gallon pot with miracle grow potting soil and is beginning to show signs of further growth. I'm planning to use a old plastic trash can as a huge pot, by drilling holes for drainage and filling it with miracle grow potting soil. If I remember correctly, I think it is a 35 gallon trash can. Will it be a good idea transplanting into this huge plastic trash can when it begins to outgrow the 7 gallon pot? It will most likely offer more root space than the rocky landfill ground in my area.

Thanks.
