Just a note to the person who has my name.....I have been looking for scented geraniums... such as chocolate, and lemon types. If you find any remember me. Even just a cutting is good because I can root it. My wife hates the smell of regular geraniums. I knid of like thier smell. I saw a scented geranium once and really was amaized at the amount of scent they have. If anyone on this forum has them let me know I would love to work something out to get some. Another thing I am looking for a Species Daylilies such as the lemon daylily but any species daylily seeds or plants. With an exception of Hem. Fulva aka ditch lilies...If anyone really "wants" them I have an endless supply.

Hey--where did this come from! lol. Ok Lisa_Mae you're going to have to fill me in on all the activity going on now because YOU will be the one getting all the posts emailed to you!
Did we reach 100? Are we supposed to make a new thread every month? I guess we are. Oops sorry guys, I forgot! Maybe the title should say Update: Horti's--June stuff.
Hey--since we are posting stuff we are looking for and have why don't we start a wish list for our pals with our top wants? Doesn't nessasarily mean we are going to get them. LOL- but maybe someone else in the swap will want to do a trade? However I don't really know--is this legal, people? That's why I was thinking let's list our wants to give our pals some ideas.
Btw--I think that I saw that Lamium before and I thought it was called 'Pink Princess'??? It looks like Beacons Silver--maybe even more silver with pink flowers instead of purple , right? 'Cause I have purple flowering.
Anyways---I am all beside myself because my poor kitty is gone. She went out Monday night and never came back yet. At first it didn't bother me because I thought she would be back. But, I have been putting two and two together and I think she was killed by Racoons. I feel so guilty because Mon. night she was pestering me so bad to get outside but for some reason I just didn't want her to go out all night again--I always preferred to keep her in. She wouldn't let up so I gave in. But, she kept wanting in and out, ya know. So, finally when she came to the window meowing I told her "No, you want out so bad then stay out!". And she did. It was garbage night. She wouldn't ever come to me at night when I called her anyway so I was tired and I went to bed early. I should've let her in when she was at the window. I feel so bad. I was going to go to the country for the weekend but I don't think I can with her MIA. I might go on Sunday - just overnight. Sorry guys--hope I didn't depress ya! I just had to vent. Oh and my point of the story is that I have decided to plant a small garden spot for her and so some of my wants for her spot would be:
Black flowers and foliage plants--because she is black. A couple of white flowers--for the white hair on her "knees" Some really vibrant hot pink/fushia flowers--because she always looked good in that color--like her collars and stuff--not her clothes, I didn't dress her up!!! lol.
I love scented geraniums, too! I have been collecting scented geraniums for awhile myself and I am constantly looking for new ones as well. You can bake with scented geraniums by placing the leaves on the bottom of a bread pan so that the bread soaks up the smell, but dont put the green leaf into the bread. :)
I love my "ditchlilies"' too. They are very pretty. I have a huge list of reasons why I think tigerlilly / ditchlilies are so wonderful---but I will spare you all.
Julus~ have you realized that every message you post comes up twice? What's up with that?
Today I received this huge, heavy box and I am just overwhelmed at the beautiful items in here! There is an address book that has a flower on the front and a Journal that I have been needing, a nice pair of women's gloves that fit just right and two cute note pads that are magnetic. A red flower pot that is hand painted with blue flowers and three pot ornaments (the kind you stick down in the dirt), an Angel, a frog and a sunflower that looks to be hand made.
A glass bowl with blue flowers and a Voodoo Lily - too cool! A hand made candle which I thought was such a great idea. It looks like a martini glass with rocks in the bottom and clear wax-gell poured over them and a wick; who would've thought it? A little hand made sign that says 'Please pick the weeds', lol and a shirt pin that says 'Life's a garden. I'm wearing the pin today. And to top it all off, 2 wine glasses that have hand painted flowers.
Someone really cared when packing this box and I want to thank you for making me feel so good today, I couldn't have asked for a better surprise! Stacy
re scented geraniums Hmm, searched last year all over the Twin Cities, and couldn't find a decent looking rose scented geranium. Got the idea to make some rose scented rhubarb jelly in July - well still have the rhubarb juice in the freezer - and this year I will go and hunt down the geranium a bit earlier, or anybody has a cutting? Claudia
Hey I'm not suppose to be reading this thread! LOl I'm re-landscaping the shop! Hubby's out there with an axe taking all the old junk shrubs out.. and I'm behind him doing my thing.. but I snuck away a sec! lol Was only going to read but saw M's post. At any rate, I have on my list many of the things I really really want.. prob. most of my wants... So folks, feel free to check my trade page.. as far as what I have, I have lot's more than what is listed.. so let me look at your list if you have something I might like.
(((MGood))) I feel so bad for you!! I know the guilt you're feeling.. been there done that. Don't beat yourself up. She is prob. just mad at you and saying "well I'll show her!" I keep you both in my thoughts! (((M))) Okay off to plant some Huge Hostas! I think one of the clumps weighs a good 40-50 pounds... at least.. I can pick up 50 pounds pretty easy and these aren't "that" easy.
Oh! M.. A Insiders trade so to speak sounds great! I'm open to trades but warn ya all.. I am a slow trader. I have ton's going on right now trying to get this shop ready to open... but I send great trades. I am trading as much as I'd like because I just don't have time.
hey everybody! sorry I haven't been posting but I've been having a problem with getting into the round robin part and all other parts of gardenweb. so I got smart and decided to open up internet explorer and hey it's working!! anyway I just wanted to let my pal know that I got my box on monday. it was an excellent box! it had tons of plants in it including an aloe vera plant (I've been wanting one!!)!! thanks soo much! I also got a really kute birthday card that had a baby with spegetti dumped on his little head and then on the inside of the card it said "it's your birthday and you can cry if you want to!!" it is really cute! plus I got some really neat seeds. these are the seeds I got. enchanters nightshade "circaea Lutetiana",sweet pea annual royal mix,cardoon/cynara,hibiscus mutabilis conteduak rote (I don't know if I spelled all that right lol if you know what I'm talking about please let me know because I've never heard of this hibiscus lol),hibiscus moscheutes, hollyhock old fashion single, shasta daisy, pink peony poppy,Lychnis Calcedonia maltese cross, calendula (cheddar dward), and morning glories mixed....I LOVE MORNING GLORIES!! I also got a REALLY CUTE little birdie I can hang in my garden :-) but the really sad this is...sorry to say this....but most of the plants except for maybe 2 or 3 of them died because the stupid post office misplaced the box. when I went there this past saturday to pick it up they said they didn't have it and come to find out it was on the wrong shelf :(:(:(:(
Mgoodforu, Is your Kitty fixed? If not maybe she went out looking for "Tom" and is smoosing with him? Don't give up hope my cats have disappeared for weeks then show back up. Maybe you could put a "lost" poster up in your neighborhood? I have black hollyhocks if you want. I'd rather send you something happy though.:o) Lisa
LOL! She is fixed. Thanks for the offer on the Black Hollyhocks but I might hold off on the memory garden unitlI know if she is a memory or not! I feel more optimistic today. I did finally get all the posters hung up and called all the "animal people" you need to call when you lose a pet. Since the posters are up i don't feel so alone in my search for her. A lot of people have had missing cats for weeks so I won't give up hope. We had a phone call tonight from someone who thinks they might have seen her in their neighborhood, which is a few streets away from ours. Only problem is there is a cat that looks almost exactly like mine that runs around a lot. Well, I have to tell you guys--I drove over to this neighborhood to search. This place is like heaven! It is Beautiful! Gorgeous houses, super quiet--all you could hear was ponds bubbling---I am not joking! There was a fog coming up off the streets which added to the beauty. you know how after it rains everything looks greener and freasher! All these people must work day and night (obviously) because it was like NO ONE was around. I drove around the streets for almost an hour and one car passed me. Plus they all have huge yards. With Gardens like you wouldn't believe!!! I'm talking lush but manicured vegetation everywhere! Jap. maples, every hosta under every kind of tree, lilies, etc..... Unreal. I'm not even gonna mention the lawns---NOT A SINGLE WEED THAT I COULD SEE! I nearly forgot about calling out to my cat because my tounge was waggin' out the window. Here I am driving 10 MPH through this plan with lost cat pics on my truck windows! lol. Here's a real kicker- I saw two deer in these peoples yard. The deer were standing up on their hind legs eating something off of their tree. They saw me watching and just snubbed me! lol. I left their with a smile because I thought that would be just like her to go live over there--the trader--lol. She won't ever come back--I did'nt want to leave either! And if I was her I would stay there to! It is obviously animal paradise! I can't wait to go back and look for her tomarrow!
Well, I am happy because EVERYONE HAS GOT A BOX NOW and it isn't even the last day of the month! We started off great! Thanks guys! Can't wait until this month!
And I know this is going to be confusing--sorry--but I gotta start a new thread again! Lisa didn't know that all our posts would be emailed to her and I miss reading them so--PLEASE SEE NEW THREAD!!! UPDATE~ HORTIHOLICS JUNE
