Wow! You've got crossword skills, Ruth and Sharon! Pothead is correct. 1 across is close with bought, but not quite right.

Hey partner, can you get me your address? revrevccc@yah...

    Love those flowers.

Adding an additonal letter to the game!

    Looks good Heidi! 👌

Good guesses Annie! I was not sure about that one.

Heidi, I sent you an email confirming your mailing address.

We don't have a hostess signed up for July. If anyone wants to do it, let me know. Otherwise I will just post a heading where we can chat and post pictures. Still very much a drought here and high temperatures once again. I think it went up to 104 with the heat index yesterday or the day before and we definitely hit over 100 for the actual temperature.

Jeanne, I signed up to take July. Thanks for letting us know!

Heidi, I found 2 seperate addresses on you....PLEASE email me ASAP with the correct address.

I am headed out of town.....

Annie, you had the correct address. I found the message this morning and responded.

Sharon, I'm jealous. I would love to grow squash but can't seem to get them past the bloom stage. The plants will be beautiful with blooms and suddenly the evil squash vine borer kills them.

I am growing the muncher cucumber this year. I've harvested six so far. I'm hoping to get enough to make your refrigerator pickle recipe.

I've harvested a few tomatoes already. Peppers and beans are bloomimg. I didn't plant a lot this year because I think the summer will be hotter and dryer than normal.

Jeanne, I have your envelope ready to mail and will take to the post office tonight or early tomorrow morning.

    Edited to say, envelope mailed.

Ruth, I know exactly what you mean about vine borer squash bugs! We have the same problem here. I'm always doing research to see what plants I can grow to avoid them. We decided to grow cucuzza for the first time as it had good reviews. It exceeded our expectations! No vine borer problems at all, YAY! I highly recommend growing cucuzza for those having vine borer problems. We made a delicious spaghetti with our first one picked. Will post some pics later!

Happy to hear your growing muncher cucumbers too! I have some growing myself. Just starting to get tiny cucumbers now. I'm hoping to get enough to make more jars of the homemade pickles too! I still have three jars in the frig left from last year's batch. Hubby said they are perfect at this stage.

I have tried several attempts to upload pics but it doesn't go through. Will keep trying periodically.

Jeanne, the Baker Creek envelope arrived at my house yesterday. I am out of town until Friday....will post my surprises from you on my return. Thank you much!!

Thanks for letting me know, Annie.

Yesterday I saw sale prices on several seeds I was interested in and placed an order. I have planted Cherry Falls tomatoes for the past two years and am so impressed with them so I made sure to get more. I put out 5 plants that I grew from seed and I will count as I pick them, but I suspect there are over 200 tomatoes on the plants. All the fruit is healthy and disease free and I haven't fertilized or sprayed. Some dry and curled leaves on the plants, but we have had heat, heat and more heat and no rain to speak of so it has been a rough growing year. I water frequently and all the other tomato plants in the nearby beds have the same dry and curling leaves and they are all different varieties. I'll take pictures as more of my tomatoes ripen. I picked just 2 yesterday - my first of the summer - although I have been picking peppers for a while now.

Jeanne, just opened my package from BAKER CREEK......

And inside I found Scabiosa Blue Cockade and Dianthus Raspberry Ripple seeds. I don't think I have never grown Scabiosa or Dianthus flowers from seed. I really enjoy both of these flowers.

    Thanks so much.......

mailing out tomorrow to Sharon since today is a holiday. Thanks!

Annie, I hope the seeds grown for you. They looked so festive!!!

Sharon, thank you so much for offering to be hostess for July. You're it!!!

I always enjoy being hostess but have been getting treatment for some pain issues and never quite know what that does to my schedule. Could be super sleepy for a week or not sleeping well at all. Just hoping for good results.

Happy Father's Day tomorrow to to alll the dads and other special men in our lives!

Heidi, I received your winner package today! 🥳🎉 Thank you for the adorable kitchen towel and goodies you sent!

Nicole, I am out of town right now but I will be mailing out your package this week.

Thank you Heidi for the great prize package.

Ruth, your swap arrived and I love it! I enjoy doing word search games and thank you for the seeds: Stock, Love in a Mist and Purple Passion Asparagus.

    Have a great day!

Also adding a few garden pictures. I picked 16 tomatoes and a pepper yesterday. As you'll see, at some point I will likely be picking over 30 tomatoes a day. Great success despite the slightly dried and curled leaves on the plants. The flower picture shows canna lily, purple prairie clover, basil and daisies.

Jeanne, are these the Cherry Falls tomatoes? I've never grown these. Sweet 100 does really good here. I'm picking a few every day. I have tomatoes on the Everglade, but none ripe yet. I have a few long beans that are ready.

We're losing figs this year to ants.

I think our rain is over and next comes the triple digit days.

These didn’t post for some reason

My largest fig tree of 3

My asparagus. 5X8 raised bed. Should be able to harvest next year

don't look at the weeds in the second raised bed

it was going to be okra, but I haven't spent much time outside because of yellow jackets

    Long beans & cucumbers

Jeanne, your garden is coming along nicely! I did not realize you were able to get that much space for your garden at the new place. That's wonderful! You have a good variety going.

Ruth, your flowers are gorgeous! I think my favorite is the bottom pic small pink flowers, it's hard to choose though! Your fig tree is a good size too and looks very healthy. I enjoy figs, they remind me of my grandmother, who loved figs!

I have been trying to post pics, but for some reason it does not go through.

My dad is growing the veggies this year. His plants are amazing. He even had zucchinis so they'll be prolific. He's got me planting flowers by the street so we're digging up a groundcover that is beautiful, but aggressive with deep roots. I'm planting clearance annuals and will tranplant perennials. Maybe the annuals will keep the weeds down a bit! Fingers crossed.

Sharon, I will have to measure the size of my raised garden bed. It really is not very large - maybe 3 x 5". However, it is packed with plants. I was able to pick 46 tomatoes and another pepper yesterday. I've been sharing what I pick with the other residents. And I must add that we have gotten rain yesterday and today. So badly needed!

Anyone tried growing garlic before? This was our first attempt this year. I did plant the cloves late in spring instead of last fall. Recently dug up the garlics and found out single planted cloves have grown into rounds. I believe I just did not give it enough growing time to develop into full head and probably need more manure next time to encourage good growth. Will dry our rounds and save for Fall planting to try again. 🤔

I received an adorable bunny card from Nicole stuffed with goodies today! She sent several different word games and a nice variety of seeds. Two different kinds of zucchini, passion flower, and acorn squash. Thank you Nicole for a wonderful envie! 😊👍

Heidi, I will send another something yourway, this week or next. I will post after I send.

Heidi, I just ordered seeds from Baker Creek for you. They usually take about 10 days to deliver.

Amy, I am sending again today. Who knows where the mail ends up. The envelope hasn't come back to me, anyway!

    And thank you, Annie.

The only 2 not finished had my name! Maybe it was caused by a polar vortex moon-shifting tide if you like conspiracy.

We'll assume everything wraps up here and move on to July.

Thank you all. This was a lot of fun!

    Heidi

    Heidi,

Baker Creek sent me an email....your seeds have been shipped. I also popped your "crossword"

portion of the swap in to the mailbox this morning. I make no promises that the crossword envie will arrive to you...haha!!

Funny......you sent to Amy and I sent to you....both swaps have not arrived. Maybe there is some funny tide going on in your neck of the woods. Has there been any strange activity in the sky or elsewhere in your vicinity??????

    Thanks for a fun month!!

Heidy, Thank you I received my package today and I love the seeds. The letter had the stamps crossed out with a red marker- such a strange way to deliver. Please dont resend it did arrive. Thank you so much!

Heidi, thank you so much for being our hostess. It was a creative and fun month!

Heidi, I received your second envelope. Would you like me to return it as I didnt open it and you could use it for another month. Thank you so much for the extra effort and hosting this month!!

    Heidi,

Have you received the Baker Creek envelope....have you received the second crossword envelope that I sent....I guess you will never get the first envelope I sent! Four stamps were on that first envelope I sent to you in June.

I would suggest you checking with your post office about your mail. I am rather shocked that none of the envelopes I sent or Baker Creek sent have arrived at your place. Something is not right here....
