Need help deciding where to end backsplash.

I'm about to embark on a backsplash for my kitchen. The first picture are the 2x4" stainless steel subway tiles I'm going to use. I'm starting all the way at the right and doing the full length from the bottom of the cabinets to the already-in-place tiny granite backsplash "lip".

My question is this: Where should it end? I think I need to go underneath the sink, and I was planning to carry the backsplash the height of the bottom of the cabinet all the way over, but should I follow it all the way through the window to the end of the counter? I think it would be odd to not do behind the sink (where things splash) and therefore I need to keep going to the left of the window, but should I just follow it along in a straight line and go straight down to the edge of the counter? Should I taper it down past the window until it "slopes" down to one brick?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks
