I was in the store today purchasing my tomato seedlings. While checking out, the young female clerk said she likes to garden, but can't raise tomatoes. She said last year she called her grandfather and said "pawpaw, I've been watering and fertilizing my tomatoes and I can't get any new leaves on them. They just stay brown". Her grandfather said "Sissy, how long have you been helping me garden and you still don't know you have to plant new tomato plants every year?". She had been watering last years dead plants.
