Yeah they can grow anywhere!! They dont need to be a specific variety just make sure you grow them in an area with full sun, water regularly (not too much water or the roots can rot), and fertilize in small amounts during late spring/early summer. If your area gets cold winters, you need to prepare them for that. They will go dormant (only temporarily) if they go through under 40ð or lower. but will probably get damaged and die if it experiences temps under 32ð for a long period of time.

That is fabulous to know. Are there dwarf varieties? I will go hunting to a local nursery who will actually carry tropical trees... That will be tough, I think.
