Reverse sunburn from outside to inside?

I am starting my tomato plants directly outside this year, but would like to be able to put them under lights on days with really bad weather (dangerously hard rains, really cold, or really cloudy). I am wondering whether anyone has experience with this. Will they get sunburn from the fluorescent lights? Do I need to expose them a little at a time, or can I just stick them right under the lights on a cold day? I keep thinking I've read a discussion about this before, but couldn't find it in a search.

Thank you,

Jessica
