Mine did not bloom, despite being in full sun and plenty of water. It is still quite small, so maybe I'll dig it out, if it's not already too late. We've had several hard freezes.

You gave me 2. One got dug by the dogs or other critter. One lived. It didn't grow much, but it has been blooming for awhile. The blooms are really neat looking! I dug it out of the big pot it was in with another plant and put it in a smaller one and brought it inside. Hopefully, I can keep it alive until spring.
That's good info about being pot bound. I will not put it into too big of a pot come spring.

GG, mine in the ground started to bloom just before our first frost. Since it was the first time to grow it I wans't sure what to expect. Go ahead and dig it and put it in a pot. you can cut it back or even take cuttings on it. It will bloom much sooner next year. I brought several of mine inside. The blooms are really cool. Looks a lot like cigar plant but much bigger and the tips of the orange flowers are a light purple.

Mine bloomed too late for hummer use but the rest of our hummer group that had it said their hummers whent nuts over it so I am looking forward to seeing how it is accepted next spring and summer when it blooms.
