    Much enjoyed your photos, Wilo.

And I'm no Wilo when it comes to growing roses. Some lovely roses.

I've grown so many trees I've just about put the roses I had out of business with shade. So thanks for sharing your beauties.

Thanks. And yes, I meant you. I'm not going to confess whether it was a typo or a memory fart. . . but I did mean rcnaylor.

funny thing is that Old Blush was a freebie I got from the Antique Rose Emporium and I would have never ordered it. I always look at individual roses. But this thing is awesome. First to bloom; last to stop and stays evergreen. And you can see the size of the thing. That's a six-foot fence. and it has blooms on canes dragging on the ground. So you can see I'm not much into pruning.

Love the old roses cuz they can take the neglect and just keep giving beauty.

Wilo, thanks for the photos of the roses! That Old Blush is phenomenal isn't she? I planted a hedge of them across my Mother's back chain link fence and they are the talk of the neighborhood.

Mrs. B.R. Cant is another wonderful rose. She can get HUGE, and I do mean huge, like 12 ft by 12 ft. And since she is always blooming with those big fat very fragrant flowers you can't bring yourself to prune her to keep her in bounds.

Well, they are all good. Some of your roses I've grown and others I haven't. Thanks again for the photos of the roses and other flowers.

roselee, that must be an amazing site (pics, we need pics).

I saw a pic of Climbing Old Blush and was knocked over. I only have a couple of climbers in my yard as I don't have a very large yard and I'm already hitting the sixty mark with my roses. no one can believe I've fit in that many. It may come back to bite me when they all get huge and I'm fighting with them all. and I have a few shadier spots that are probably going to get antique rosified pretty soon. Hostas sulked and hydrangeas went belly up. I'm a flower fanatic and if I can tuck an antique rose in there and have blooms, well, why not, eh?

I took pictures of Mrs. B.R. Cant at ARE in Brenham that were a blanket of flowers 12 ft tall, but darn, that was before I had a digital camera. They were in front of the old house with the porch all the way around it and were up to the roof. They have since removed them.

When mine was outgrowing it's spot I took a deep breath, cut it back, dug as much root as I could up and planted it at my Mom's house where my dad had his veggie garden before he passed away. It took up almost his whole garden area. She always had a vase of fresh cut roses from them. Now my sister lives there and doesn't water or fertilize much if at all, but it's still alive though not as big.
